About Malaika
My name is Malaika (Muh-like-uh) Hilson, and I create beautiful photography and video of people and things. That’s all there is to it. No distractions, no frills. No trying to conquer the universe. Just doing my best to conquer a little bit of it, one frame at a time.
After over 4 years of shooting just about everything from weddings to real estate, I know my way around a camera. I know what to do with your hands; I can spot that out-of-place lapel or strand of hair. I understand what works and what does not -- and how to transform what doesn’t work into your favorite picture of yourself.
Most of us share in those nerves of getting our picture taken. I get the butterflies too! I promise that after our session you will feel more confident in front of a camera. In every session, I teach my clients about body language, facial expression, and the psychology behind a great headshot. The goal is for you to walk out with a set of confident-looking, marketable headshots that will serve you well for years to come (or at least until you change your look).
