How quick is the turn-around for final images?
Your images will be ready within 10 business days of proof selection. Should you need them in a hurry, a rush edit fee of $125 for a 3-day delivery is available.
How many images will I get?
The number of images received is based on the package you selected at the time of booking. If you need more images than your package allows, you can purchase additional images for $45/image or groups of 3 for $120. I do not release unedited images to clients for posting or sharing.
How will I get my images?
Your final images will be sent via a digital gallery. Your images will be in the gallery for one year, after which you will be contacted one reminder to download before they are deleted. Past one year, Malaika Hilson can not guarantee they will be available.
Where can I use the photos after I receive them?
You’re free to use the images for any personal use. All images retain a Malaika Hilson copyright and to use for commercial purposes, an appropriate License must be purchased.
Can I decide where to shoot?
I'm totally open to your location ideas, however, I reserve the right to decline location suggestions as I see fit.
Do you have styling and make-up recommendations?
While your outfit choices are totally up to you, feel free to browse Malaika's personal style pinterest board for outfit inspo. Want to work with a stylist or need a make-up artist? Let me know and I can provide you with local recommendations.
What do we do if it rains on the day of the shoot?
No worries! If there’s rain on your parade, we’ll simply reschedule your shoot date for a sunnier day.
What if I need to reschedule?
I'm happy to reschedule as long as you give a 24-hour heads-up! Failure to provide a 24-hour notice, will incur a rescheduling fee of $175.

How do I pay you?
Invoices are sent within my project management system and can be paid with all major credit cards.
Can we shoot somewhere outside of the city?
Detroit Proper & Metro Detroit are all included at no cost. Shooting outside of this range will incur a travel fee, please contact me to discuss.
What happens if my session runs longer than expected?
Your session begins and ends at the time included in your contract. At the end of your session, Malaika Hilson will let you know, should you want to add time to the session, a fee of $175/hr. must be paid before continuing. Adding more time also adds an additional 5 images.
Do I need to arrange a studio if I want to shoot in a studio?
I will source the location for you, but studio fees will be the responsibility of the client.
Do you do videography as well?
Sorry, not at this time.
Can I email you for photography tips?
I at long last am offering one-on-one consulting sessions, in the event you’d like photography shooting and editing tips. Please contact me for session rates.
What camera do you use?
I am currently shooting with a Canon 5D Mark IV, my go-to lens is a 24-70mm.
